Clinical Case Presentation Competition
Application Deadline: 31 OCT 2024
HKSHT welcomes submissions of clinical case presentations at the 18th Annual Symposium of the Hong Kong Society for Hand Therapy in February 2025.
“Understanding Hand Therapy: Learning from Core Skills, Enhancing through Innovation” is the theme of the Annual Symposium. Presentation content relevant to the theme is preferred.
Presentation format
Oral presentation in English language. Presentation using PowerPoint files and/or other multimedia means are welcome.
Award
A “Best Case Presentation” will be awarded to the excellent case presenter. Other case presenters will be awarded certificates of appreciation.
Selection Criteria for the “Best Case Presentation”
Each presentation will be evaluated against the following criteria:
(1) Quality of presentation, including presentation skills and time management.
(2) Content of presentation, including its relevance and impact on hand therapy, the improvement it offers to patient care, and the usefulness of the take-home message.
The Organizing Committee of Hong Kong Society for Hand Therapy will review all submitted applications before notifications to selected parties. Notifications (acceptances/regrets) will be sent by December 15, 2024.

FAQ
Does my application have to relate to the theme or specific priorities?
No! We welcome content in all areas relevant to hand and upper extremity practice. However, please note that cases which are closely related to the theme may be given higher priority for acceptance.
Who can apply for the competition?
It is open to anyone who would like to share their insights with the hand therapy community. We welcome high-quality and innovative content from first-time applicants, especially junior therapists.
Can I submit a case I’ve previously presented elsewhere?
Yes. We welcome content presented elsewhere that is relevant to our hand therapy community. You need to state whether it has been presented in other occasion(s).
What is the cost of application?
There is no fee for competition application.
How cases are selected?
Content will be evaluated and scored by the members of the Organizing Committee of the Hong Kong Society for Hand Therapy. Applicants’ names are masked.
When will I be notified if my application is accepted?
Notifications regarding acceptances or regrets will be sent in mid-December 2024.
If my application is accepted, what happens next?
Congratulations on your acceptance! the Hong Kong Society for Hand Therapy Committee will be contact you for further details. You will be responsible for providing your bio, portrait, presentation slides, posters and/or handouts. You are required to register for the symposium upon acceptance to the competition.
